My husband and I are paying $1,024 a month for our medical insurance premium, but it still isn’t covering all of our medical expenses. In fact, last year alone we spent $595 in doctor’s fees, $1,246 on prescription medications and over $1,238 in other costs. This is a lot of money to be spending on healthcare, but what else can we do?
Since I am very close to retirement, I cannot switch jobs or insurance without the risk of loosing all my benefits. If there were another way for us to get quality insurance, we would do it in a heartbeat, but so far we haven’t had any luck.
I think we all should be able to have quality, affordable insurance, especially when we’ve worked our whole lives for it.
