It's Our Healthcare

DANVILLE

I have tried to purchase my own health insurance several times, but I constantly get denied due to my ‘pre-existing’ condition.

Fortunately, I have insurance through my wife’s job, but I worry about what will happen if we were to ever lose it. Even with insurance, we still have to pay large out of pocket costs for the premiums, co-pays and prescription medications. Last month I paid about $300 just for my prescriptions.

In addition to the costs, it also prevents my wife from ever being able to leave her job. I rely on her insurance constantly, and we would be in a lot of trouble without her health benefits.

To make things even more complicated, her employer is thinking about changing their insurance policies. This means we could soon see an even higher monthly premium and a $10,000 deductible. I don’t know what we will do if that happens.
